The Third Wave -The spanish flu was winding down in America, or so it seemed. On November 21 1918 San Franciscans were allowed 2 go w/out masks- 5000 cases appeared there after.
By April 1919 it was gone 4 good.H1N1 finally had run out of hosts.
*Entire villiages were wiped out in Africa, Asia, and Central America.
*Millions of children were orphaned.
*many of those who did survive were left with brain damage. Dr. Oliver Sachs wrote "Awakenings" a book about millions who devepoped ENCEPHALITIS LETHARGICA - a devastating condition in which victims were trapped in a twighlight world of permenant sleep.
*With a terrible sad poingnancy, the spanish flu pandemic all but erased from the history books until quite recently...
When H5N1 appeared on the scene in 1996...

We havent had a pandemic I guess, since HIV. What are your thoughts about when the next one will strike effectively.
Yes Asbergers disorder is a bitch.. I do believe this next pandemic will be the flu. It has previously(many,many times) proven it's elf in the history books. It is a reagular occurance and people don't want 2 acknowledge that fact...it's 2 scarey 4 them.
In 1997 when it had the spark of pandemic in Hong Kong, we cut it down. Now with time it has become an even deadlier killer. Maybe they shouldn't have stopped it in 1997, because now it has the potential of a superflu, not much unlike the Fictioanl movie the stand. I don't think people understand the potential devestation it would have on all the world's occupants, man and beast.I believe almost half the populace will be stricken dead in the next pandemic. (and once all communications are lost we may as well be living in 1918)
HIV is a terrible pandemic, if it were airborne we'd all be dead. I had a loved one die from HIV. I saw the years of struggle he went through and I know he suffered so very much. It came about by men eating bush meat from the jungles in Africa. It could've been prevented. But that is neither here nor there, cause it IS and will continue for deacades, 2 kill innocent men, women, children, and animals.
U asked the 100 trillion dollar question....when? - no one knows...I Believe within the next 5 years.
